It's been rough all over, talked to a guy today that hunts in Fairfield that hasn't seen a deer since Thanksgiving. The sad part is I haven't seen one since the second weekend of November!

We are on a new lease this year in wood county so I don't know if is a slow year or not for the are, but I haven't seen anything all year from the stand. I have plenty of deer in pics, and have seen one or two while walking.

Its been completely different this year than the last few years. Had deer and hogs showin up just about every sit last year, hogs wont even show up.

Me either, only pigs I have seen are on camera at 1:00 am. Thinking about giving up me lease as well, but from the way it sounds it might not be the lease after all.

It's been an off year everywhere so don't give up on those leases yet. Heck, at my lease we've usually killed a few nice bucks by the end of November and we haven't killed a single deer this season, buck or doe. I can't speak for everyone but I firmly believe the acorn crop hurt us bad this year. Even for the guys who don't hunt feeders, when a deer can turn it's head in any direction and have its choice of a thousand acorns within 3 ft., find the right oak to sit on is a crap shoot. The warm weather over the last 4 weeks hasn't helped at all either...

Also, we're starting to pay for the drought in 2011 as there is a lack of 3.5 year old deer to be found. We'll feel the effects for another few years I'm afraid. The good news is that all this lack of killing will help the herds rebound nicely in the coming seasons.

definitely not the leases. All the acorns and rain. Trust me. Its all over the state. Should be a great year next!

Ive hunted every weekend except the last 3 weekends due to moving and back issues, but Ive seen deer every sit. Checked cams today and have plenty of day time movement. Maybe I just found the right spot to sit, but its been a great year for me as far as seeing deer and shot opportunities. This is in Rusk County

Rusk County has definitely been turning out some bruisers this year.

No doubt. I should have more than one myself, but things just keep happening too fast.
