Finally after 3 years of passing and not closing the deal on some good deer. I finally connected on good one. I have been bow hunting all year have yet to pick up the rifle, but Sunday 11/16 I decided I have had enough of the cold rain. Needless to say I cared my broomstick to the stand Sunday evening. Got to my stand at 3 sprinkled a lil corn down old logging trail that we've not hunted all year. It was pouring rain the whole time while I was doing this, I noticed some fresh ground scrapes as I was walking down the lane, in back of my head i knew it was gonna be a good evening. I got setup in the stand, and pulled out my phone looking tbh reading a couple of threads when I seen something at the end of the lane. It was still pretty foggy, so I put my gun up and sure enough it was kickers(both g2 have kickers since 1-1/2yo). Started breathing lil heavy thinking this couldn't be happening 15 minutes into my hunt and not having my mathews I should've known it was going to happen. After deciding I better not pass on him I squeezed off the round and look through the smoke and fog and I see horns on the ground. Finally after long 3 years I get a mature buck on the ground, not that I haven't seen some nice deer I'm just picky. I just wish I could've connected with my bow instead of my gun but I'm still happy with him biggest buck with rifle 139-7/8" but not my biggest.
