Early season hunting was on the menu for this year! I have a Ton of work hitting the books in Nov-Dec this year! After 2 trips in Oct and hunting above normal temps and seeing limited movement. I figured I would go through the Sonic Drive inn and ask for more above normal temps and a Full moon!
With it being That Time of the year, we pulled out and headed up!
Cameras showed Mature deer activity picked up around the 27th in our area. Mostly night pics, but they were pushing doe's out of the feeding areas. So you never know what might happen.
Afternoon on the 4th Nov I had a few deer show with 1.5yo bucks hitting the hand corn, slow for sure!
Morning of the 5th I sat a Turtle blind set up on a feeder. Lots of activity there that morning! 3 mature bucks, couple Crap heads and a broke shooter 10!
So afternoon hunt was back in The Turtle. I had mature doe in the area and that seemed like the place to be!
Prime Time came and I looked up and 2 mature bucks were on a string headed to check the doe's. After they chased everything away this 8 came in and stopped a little short of where I needed him. His front shoulders right behind feeder legs. With that being said I over adjusted and shot him Back! Missed all the gut and Center Punched his Liver! I shot the Wrong Shoulders but it worked!
Deadly Shot ran about 150yrds
Hoyt Carbon Spyder and Rage Extreme got it done again. Slick 8 140ins 5.5yo started seeing @ 2yo.
Another 6.5yo 8 hit the ground that scored 145.
