So we've been hunting a certain 10 point buck but due to all the rain its been a little tough. To make it short prior to this weekend we were 0-4 on hunts. So with that in mind and the full moon we weren't expecting much different this weekend.
The feeder went off Saturday morning and there me and her sat for 45 minutes with not a bird in sight. I have to admit we were smelling another skunked hunt coming.
Around 6:50am I look up to see a solid 10 point inside the feeder pen thats been having us guessing hard at his age. What I told my daughter is that one of his running buddies is a dinosaur 9 point. Sure enough, a few minutes later he was standing outside the pen looking in. He made a couple of rounds around the pen before jumping in. He quickly chased away the 10 point and claimed his corn.
We watched him eat for about 15 minutes at 20 yards which was on the opposite side of the feeder. He then made it to this side of the feeder and slowly fed his way into our shooting lane. I whispered at Audrey and told her if she wanted to shoot him she could. He's a deer that needs to go. She quickly said heck yeah!! So I told her to draw, pick her spot and aim small. While the video camera was rolling she released her arrow tipped with a 100 grain standard Slick Trick. She made a perfect double lung shot and the arrow passed completely through before he even flinched.
Audrey age 14.

Shot at 14 yards.
I pic of him early this year. What a brute!!

Pictures taking from my video camera.
Arrow went in at dark spot behind shoulder.
Cant see the arrow but its already through him.
Arrow finally lands 10 yards behind him.
We were both super pumped!! Plenty of high fives and hugs. After verifying on video what I saw with my eyes we confirmed a perfect shot. We waited 30 minutes and out the blind we went. I retrieved the arrow and found it covered in blood. More high fives!!
Since Ive been training a cur and beagle I decided we would trail him a little ways then go back to camp so we could pick up the dogs and the rest of the family. Well we trailed him about 15-20 yards outside the pen and I look up to see him piled up not 20 yards from us. More hugs and high fives. Total he made it about 40 yards from where he was hit.

We made it back with the family and dogs to retrieve Audrey's deer. I first put the cur and she did ok. She got a little distracted due to my beagle being around. She found the trail and started on it great then came back to play with her beagle brother. I then turned my beagle loose and he quickly did quick work. He found the trail and took off straight for the deer. He didnt see him till he got a few yards from him due to the high grass. Once he was there my wife released the cur and she arrived to claim her deer. Lol!! It was cool to see her get so darn aggressive on both the deer and her beagle brother. That was a first retrieve and experience for the both of them. They did well.
The rest of the pics.

One big very happy family.

Audrey doing work.

The dinosaur's teeth. Whats yalls guess on age?

Not her biggest deer with a bow but a very good trophy deer in our book. Glad we were able to get him before mother nature got him. Thanks for reading.
