    Buck down in Hays

I got this guy on Monday. He first came out at 8am and went straight to the feeder. But, before offering up a shot a doe came out of the tree line and he headed straight for her. After he sniff checked her, he returned to the feeder disappointed. Then no sooner then he got back, a bigger buck showed up and they started to stiff leg each other. I was able to see the bigger buck clearly now. Unfortunatly he was missing all but the browtine and main beam on the left and the same on the right plus half of a tine. I believe he was a 10 pointer. Then another doe came out and they both went to check her. Disappointed a second time he returned to the feeder. Watched him feed for 5 minutes with no shot. Then my heart dropped when another doe came out and he started to run after her. Thankfully, she didn't run off but headed to the feeder. He sniffed her and after the third no go, he decided he was out of there. Well at 28 yrds he stopped and offered a shot. He was right behind a bush that covered his head and lower third of his torrso. I knew I had a clear double lunger shot so I took it. I watch my lighted nock blow through him perfectly. Knowing I didn't get a heart shot I gave him an hour. When I got down the arrow was red tip to tip. However, there was no blood trail. So I searched to where I last saw him and then found a tiny droplet. I stayed on it and finally found him 60 yards from where he was shot. Sorry so long but really enjoyed this hunt and wanted to share a little.

Man that is a nice looking buck. Sounds like everything lined up for you and you made the most of it. Am I seeing 11 solid points?
