Tyler County, Texas -- First one with my bow!

This has been a long time coming.
Finally put my first deer with a bow on the ground this past weekend. I bought this bow back in 2007 while a student at Texas A&M. An archery class I took at A&M sparked my interest in shooting bows and bow hunting. After several years of not having time to shoot much, or hunt much for that matter, I picked it back up about two years ago and started hunting with it. A couple of years later, a couple of missed opportunites, bad luck which is oh so common for me, one bad shot which I got over, I finally sealed the deal last Sunday morning. Even though I just took a doe, and thankfully filled the freezer, I couldn't be happier about this one. 22 yard shot, she ran about 30 yards and took a dirt nap. Shooting the G5/T3 mechanical broadhead, it most definitely did what it was designed to do. That 60 seconds felt like a lifetime, cannot describe the rush in words. Definitely back on track with my bow hunting career, and cannot wait to see what opportunities I have the next time I crawl into the stand.

            Great job and congrats!

You will soon learn that mature doe are harder to kill than bucks. Then you won't think "just a doe".

            =)

Good job. Oh how I wish I could experience that first one again. They're all good but nothing like that first one.
