Anyone hunt up in the panhandle?

My friend has family land in Twitty, Texas. It's east of Amarillo and we are going up there the first week of October to hunt. Anyone else hunt up there? How is it looking this year? We're in San Antonio so it'll be an eight hour drive, but I can't complain because it's free.

Used to, October hunting can be real hit or miss. Better off up there in Nov-Dec when the weather is more consistent. Hope the moon is right.
