Where to start. Last year I was finally able to convince my son to hunt a few times with his bow! It is very hard for him to put down his 7mm-08. He says he likes to watch then hit the ground and smell the gun powder after the shot. He will honestly sit there smelling the gunpowder after every shot!!! A few months back, a good friend if ours passed down his bow to jerry jr. I had not been able to get around to set it up but when jerry asked me to set it up because he wanted to bowhunt, I quickly Got it ready. We shot some in the back yard and he was doing good. His groups were getting tighter with every practice. On Sunday I had a free afternoon and he asked me to take him out. My intentions were to get him on a mature doe. After a few minutes deer started pouring into our shooting lane. The usual, "can I shoot him"... Nope, too young. I then heard," there is another buck coming in, can I shoot him". I poked out of the window and saw a mature 10 pt come into the shooting lane. After looking at him for a few seconds, I say yes! His eyes lit up, drew his bow. All this time I am sitting behind him and everything is in slow motion. The arrow flies and he drills it in the heart. The buck jumped through the fence and got his rack caught, ran across the roller chop and into the brush. After a hard 30 minutes we made out way to the last spot and there he laid!!!

He is a big kid but just turned 13. A moment I will never forget. That's what life is about, these moments with our loved ones!!!!
