I bought the Invasion from Diamond S a few weeks ago. I got her home and set her up. In no time she was driving nails out to 50 yards. I also purchased an Uway 562 camera. Over the next couple weeks, I started getting pictures of 2 good bucks.
Opening morning I had a choice to make, a wide heavy 8pt or a tall tined 9pt. The 8pt was chosen and the invasion was let loose. The 125 xl German Kentic did some damage as the deer only went 20yards.
5 minutes after shooting the 8,the 9pt walked back out. I watched him for over an hour. I decided I would let my 13yr old son take the 9pt tonight.
At 4:30 we headed to stand and I told my son he could hunt my stand and I would hunt his. He had several pictures of the 9pt on his phone and he was pumped. I dropped him off, gave him a knuckle bump and wished him good luck. As I sat in his stand, the usual critters showed up. Young bucks along with some doe and fawns. Finally nightfall came. I drove back to my stand to find by son with his hands in the air and a big smile on his face. His words were.... I GOT HIM. We hugged and celebrated and I asked which way did he go. He said I heard him crash over here. With flash light in hand, here we go. Blood every where. The Slick Trick did his job. The deer went 18 yards and pilled up.
