    Broadhead damage thread?

Seems like there is one every season, but I haven't seen it yet this year.

I will start it off- doe at 17 yards, shot with a crossbow and NAP FOC broadhead. She ran like a bat out of hell for 30 yards, than stopped literally dead in her tracks. The entrance wound was very small, the blades opened inside. The exit on the other hand, was large enough to stick my hand in, and there was half a lung hanging out.

I was shooting 60lb Bowtech Assasin, Easton FMJ arrows with NAP Killzone broadheads. I shot opening morning and hit a doe in the shoulder, ZERO penetration. No blood, arrow looks like I shot a brick wall. Second morning, shot a doe in the ribs quartering away. Complete pass through, she went 20 yards. So IMO, Killzone's work if you don't hit bone. I am going to try some slicktrick standards I bought for pigs on my next deer. Going to make more of an effort to avoid the shoulder in the future, but I like shooting at that crease when they are broadside.

I shot this fallow with a nap killzone and it went right through the shoulder and the tip was sticking out of the other shoulder. I like this head.

Another doe shot this morning. That's the exit, a little far back. Quartering to shot. She ran about 60 yards and did an about face and started walking back, then fell over. Same broad head as the first doe.

With exit wounds like that, you shouldn't have too hard of a tracking job. Congrats!

Both fell within sight, no tracking job required.
