I started bow hunting three years ago. Last year I had a shot on a doe but I mis-judged the distance. Earlier this year I took a shot at a javelina but didn't see the branch and missed that shot also. This past weekend I was able to get in on the Hotter'n Hell Ram hunt. Since this was my first ram hunt I wasn't after anything special. I saw a ram I thought looked good and worked my around to get into position. He gave me a broadside shot at about 15 yards. I drew back and let it fly. Being excited I pulled my shot and gut shot him. I quickly followed up with one through the front shoulder. After he hit the ground I eased up on him and saw he was still alive and trying to get up. I was able to ease up on him and send one more into the bread basket. I know it wasn't the best shooting but I was able to make a follow up and get him down.
