I ran up to the lease this weekend despite the promise of nasty weather. with the body count stuck on 10 pigs for the year and plenty to do on the calendar for the next few weeks. I decided to make the best of my small hunting window to try and pad up the body count. as i was unlocking the gate the sky opened up with a real frog strangler. I was totaly soaked by the time I got the ice cream in the trailer. with the storm clouds camped on top of me I got dryed off and settled in to watch a vintage John Wayne movie. at 5:30 the rained stopped I threw the BowBat in my Sami and made a mad dash for a stand. the feeders spin at 7 and I wanted to be there long before that. my gut told me the pigs would be on their feet. it was a fairly slow hunt with a few turkeys and a couple deer until an hour after dark when these porkers and their pigs showed up. a couple of well placed razor tricks and the body count jumped a little closer to my goal of 25.
