Rolled back in yesterday from S. Texas and was lucky enough to get it done again
We identified several potential shooters on game cams and I gave my partner the choice of hunting a 170" pig 10ptr or this 160 class 11ptr. Of course he chose the 10ptr so I gladly set my sights on this 6.5 yo brushcountry buck. My first sit, he gave me all the opportunities a guy could want but I never pulled the trigger. After spending the weekend sitting with mgmt hunters, Monday morning I decided to go see if I could close the deal. I got to the stand about an hour before daylight and could hear the presence of deer in the area. Once the sun started coming up, I could make out 2 big mature bucks, 1 being a mainframe 9 ptr with a split G2, the other was the deer known on our ranch as Superman. I waited till it was light enough to see through the peep and settled the old Destroyer in on his vitals. The wackem broadhead did its job and I was gladly rewarded with this fine buck. Now if I could only get my hands on the Booner I shot in Illinois, it would top off an awesome 2012 season.
