Well. I've hunted hard. Everything decent has been nocturnal. I was in kansas for awhile and needed to start wrapping it up. Saw good deer movement but never anything with size at all. Well Saturday morning I had some does come running in from the east with 2 small bucks chasing. They started fighting and I heard a loud grunt behind me. Being first light I couldn't see very far. I turned and could see good horns. Drew back. Stopped him at 21 yards and took the shot. Being first light I couldn't see if I hit him good or not. I heard him run but there were several other deer around so i couldn't pin point him. I waited a fearful 30 minutes not sure of the shot. Grass was tall so I couldn't see the arrow good. Climbed down and there he was. 20 yards from the shot. Grimm reaper did the job quick. It was a perfect shot. Heart non existent. Anyway. Not the biggest, but I have to leave room for growth in the future. After all. It is my first bow buck.

No, I grew up there. Family friends since birth of a farmer so we visit every year...although that was shot about 300 yrds from public. I do hunt alot of public hunting. Just depends on wind and rut. There are some monsters on public. Me and my dad have several off of public just rifle for me though.
