This report is really late in getting posted ...
I was fortunate enough to get a 7 point on 10-19-12. I was hunting from a popup blind ( which I figured out that I really do not like ). First time to shoot from a popup.
I had only been in the blind for about 30-45 minutes when he appeared. ** I am really calm while watching deer. I am really calm while drawing on deer. I am really calm while flinging arrows at deer. I am NOT really calm AFTER the arrow has left my bow and I am REEEEEAAAALY not calm after the deer has run off. My shot was around 24 yards. I honestly thought I had missed. Sounded like someone had taken a baseball or something and thrown it into the woods. My thought was that I had missed and the arrow had crashed into the brush behind the deer. I exited the blind to find NO BLOOD. I have a good buddy that always calms me down and asks lots of questions about what I remember about the entire scenario. He was sure I had hit the deer so he left what he was doing to help me take a look. He saw blood almost immediately. ( Must have been the arrow hitting bone in ribs that I had heard ) I hit a little higher than I would have liked, but my 100g Muzzy was able to do the trick. He ran about 60 yards.
Not the largest deer out there .. but MY best so far ...
