Before Jeff and I were old enough to walk, mom and dad took us along on hunting trips to their lease in Willow City. We absorbed everything we could take in and formed a love for the outdoors that is still burning strong today.
Dad caught the bowhunting fever in the late 60s and early 70s. He started with recurves before moving to the original Allen compound. I remember marveling at the genius of the tuning keys and s hooks of that now primitive bow. He still has the bow on dispay in his home.
Jeff and I put every hand me down bow and arrow to use and spent many hours shooting with dad at the three bales of hay in the backyard. We graduated from paper plates, to armadillos, to deer.
A few years ago, shoulder problems caused dad to put down the compound. He bought a crossbow and at 75, is still getting it done in style.
Jeff and I are proud of you dad! Great buck.
