Well I don't know how to describe the feelings so please bare with me. I eased into my new ground blind around 0545 and had some hand corn at my 12oclock at 20 yards. I tried to check my game cam but apparently between last weekend and today it quit on me. Not a single pic so I didn't know what to expect. Last Saturday was the last time I had checked it and there wasn't a deer pic since September 19. Well sunrise slowly starts coming around and I'm just playing on my phone checking on live hunts on tbh. I was daydreaming of big bucks when I catch movement in the brush. It was a doe, and she is slowly making her way in my shooting lane. I was in the far back corner of the blind so she wouldn't see me, but she kept looking right at me. All I could think was here is my chance, please don't spook. I didn't brush in my blind so I was thinking this may spook her also. I was armed with my new ten point crossbow and had it shouldered. All this doe needed to do was take a few more steps. She does and i let an arrow fly. I saw it stick her right good and she runs down a creek bed. I call my dad who is in California picking my brother up that just got out of the Marines. He couldn't believe it. I wait about twenty minutes and start the track. She went through the thickest stuff she could find but I caught up with her after about fifty yards. This was one of the most exciting hunts I have been on. Never had to be so close to seal the deal.
