    MLD Doe from Jarrel

So, I had a chance to go out this morning to my buddy's place in Jarrel. Thanks, Glen!

When I arrived at the stand I threw out some hand corn as usual. Just about light at 7AM three Doe came in to eat. The feeder hadn't even gone off yet. Now, if you know me, you know I have a problem with getting over excited when animals come into shooting range, doe, pig, buck, doesn't matter... I get blown away by the rush

I managed to keep my knees together and wait for the right time. The does were eating, and I was waiting...

I eased my bow over the tree stand rail, and waited for the right time to draw. The largest doe was in position so I drew, but had to wait for a smaller one to get out from behind it. I held the bow for what seemed like eternity.

Finally the yearling moved out from behind the older doe. I settled my pin on the doe, zeroing my site level, and let go before I even knew what happened.

The doe jumped about 6ft in the air, running the opposite direction...

I had no idea where the arrow went

I knew I put the pin on it's shoulder, but never saw where the arrow hit or where it exited.

I finally calmed down to where I could get my wits about me, waited for 30 minutes and climbed out of the stand. I went to where I shot the deer and saw what looked like red spray paint all over the ground. I went back to the truck just to wait a little longer, every second killing me, and calling or texting every friend.

A buddy of mine was hunting on the same property and I was able to get in touch with him. We went and looked for blood and found a nice trail of "paint"

Low and behold, not 50 yards from where I shot her, there she lay... Another great experience!

This is the first time I have killed two deer in one year and I can't thank Glen Kreger enough! Both came on his land and he is a great person and one I call friend!

Glen, buddy, I owe you a lot... I am forever in debt to you and can't thank you enough for the time I spend in the woods with you and the opportunities that you give me.
