    First Buck (8PT) with BOW!!!!!

So I'll try and be short but what a morning. Got up at 4:15 and had coffee and got dressed, headed to Buddies Chris S. for a meeting at 5:30am. We reviewed trail cam pics of the spot we were going to hunt 2gether. Being that the moon is full the pics had alot of night time pics. once on stand we wait, 25 degrees and no action, YEAH!!!........Oh its just the feeder going off.(6:30)(Chris videoing and I the shooter) Now it seems and hour has passed and outta nowhere is this buck directly under the feeder(6:55) I told Chris not to get the camera on cause i was afraid of spooking the deer and not getting my 1st shot at him. Well minutes go bye and no good shot comes, so i tell Chris to fire up the camera and start videoing. He finally takes 2 steps to the left (his right) and its a 1/4 slightly ahead shot at 20 yrds.....WHACK i let her rip. Rage 2 blade..OOOOPPPPSSSSS No pass threw, arrow hanging, whats this????? The worst feeling in the whole world. Well an hour pass and we go to the house for some hot chocolate and thinking time. Everything going threw my head. Well after my brother arrived to help track we started at feeder, NO blood, but 20 yrd away 3 drops and thats it. Looked for another hour or so and gave up. In discust, i was mad to say the least, thought that the shot was good and everything was fine but no blood or deer.
By now abotu 2 1/2 hours had passed and we were gettn ready to load up when a neighboring land ownwer gets our attention and say "Hey i got a dead deer in my driveway" HOLY MOTHER OF ___, well anyways my response was does he have an arrow in him, YES was the reply and all the negative vibes where all gone. Thank you so much Chris for the chance to share a once in a lifetime experience with a friend. The best X-Mas present i could ever ask for. This is my 1st arrow ever thrown at a deer and i got him, the shot placement was good but hit square with 2nd rib back deflecting into left lung and protruding to spine area. Bleed inside until down on the ground. If you look at the pic, his back has a point trying to come out thats where it stopped.

It for sure was a roller coaster of a morning....from the excitement of you getting your 1st buck, to not finding but 2 drops of blood.....then a rancher stopping us and telling us there's a deer laying in his pasture! What a high! Congratulations bro!
