Just got in stand. It is no where near as chili as I thought it would be. The winds are gusting a lot! Swirling winds too! I will post again after legal shooting light. Bow hunt for those bow only cats

So the winds are steady blowing at about 20 mph. My feeder is about to go off in the next 5 min. I'm going to bleat and rattle about 745.

I saw the most deformed squirrel just now. I tried to take a picture but you can't tell what is when I zoom in. Ah well still nothing worth sending an arrow to fetch

Kinda an odd day. I usually see something other than tree rats eating my corn. Where are the cardinals and the finch? Usually I have a few dove that fly into the tree then blow out all crazy like when they notice me. Maybe it's time for a change of tactics.

Outstanding news! Where in Texas ate you from?

I am currently stationed at Ft.Hood.....about an hour North of Austin. Out of my 14 years in the Army I have been in Texas for 8. But as soon as I get back I have to get ready to move again. I got orders to go to arizona in the middle of the summer. So this will be my last season to try and score on a NICE texas buck. Shot some does and spikes and a lot of hogs........but have yet been able to connect with a nice buck. But then again it seems like I am always gone during prime hunting season (OCT-DEC) so all I can do is keep trying.

First signs of movement. Come on Bessie treat me good last hunt they spooked up a few deer and got the moving to my feeder. Maybe again.

My plan is to sit until 11:30 go grab lunch and a nap then be back in the stand at 3

Well. I think I going for lunch this was kinda a busted morning hunt. Odd more than busted...

My expectations were pretty much off the charts for today. But AH...

Yep, I just got woken up from my nap. The sound of hollering swine! I'm kicked back in the chair and hear em... I'm thinking there ain't no pigs on this place.

My mind keeps coming too, things are getting into focus, and then I hear bells. Donka donk donk the sound of cow bells and the farmer yelling come here Bella.

He's yelling, the pigs yelling back, and then she waddles right up to me and nocks me out of the chair. Friendliest pig I have ever met. And she is huge

I am back in the stand. My corn is still here. So maybe I'll have heavy traffic this sit. Walking in I came across a dillo but I missed it. Those things are fast.
