I got in the blind about 1:15hrs before legal shoot. This is the first time anyone has hunted this blind all season. I'm sitting in well brushed popup blind 29 yards from the feeder.
There was no wind and I was getting pretty warm in all my clothes. Feeling drowsy from the Benadryl I had taken about an hour earlier I crashed out for about 20mins
At FLS nothing not even a sighting. Feeder went off at 7:15 am, I sat for another 20 mins then it all started.
I had 2 doe come in from right behind me and start eating, I looked them over and chose the one on the left. Then before I could grab my bow they trotted off, not in alarm...no snorting...just a slow walk off....
At this point I'm thinking "crap, I'm moving too slow this morning" about mid thought 2 bucks rushed in and started eating the corn, turns out the doe were making sure those bucks didn't get too close...
I started the video camera right away, I could tell they didn't have a care in the world. I wasnt 100% sure if either deer was legal so I waited and watched them for several mins. After they both looked towards me in the "alert" mode I could tell the 8 pointer was right on the edge of legal.
I made the shot (double lung) he ran about 50 yards and doubled over I watched him expire for about 15 mins before making the phone call to my grandpa. He came down and helped me load him up on the trailer.
