    Doe Down in Decker Prairie

Well the hunting has been really tough lately having hunted six times in a row without seeing a deer. I think it has a lot to do with it raining acorns and the full moon. I decided I needed to try something different so I hung a stand in an oak tree that was near another oak that I had seen deer under when driving in and out of the area. The next afternoon I hunted this stand and shortly before dark a doe emerged from the thick brush and began eating acorns. She worked her way into a shooting lane at ninteen yards and I released the arrow and she ran about eighty yards and piled up, just off the road in the brush she had came out of. With this being my second and last doe for this year I now will concentrate on the bucks. I had posted my first doe on the temporary site so I will add a picture of her also. Thanks and good hunting.

25 yrs ago I lived close to Deckers Prairie. There was only a store there. It had mounts of some very nice bucks and the guy said they all came from around there.
