Huge corsican completes my texas slam !!!!

Before this hunt, I had often heard that a corsican ram was really easy to hunt. All you had to do was walk up to them and put your arrow in them. Well, this corsican wasn't playing by the rules.
Rickey, owner and guide at Hunt's Bowhunting Ranch, had spotted a couple of big corsican rams in a pasture at the back of the property. This is what I wanted because it would complete my Texas Slam. I worked my way toward the rams, but one of the problems was there was about 20 rams in the herd so it might be hard to get a clean shot. When I got within about 40 yards, they began to move. It was in open pasture so it was impossible to get any cover, so the old slow stalk was the only option. Well, after close to a mile later, the group of rams finally began to split up. The big corsican I wanted had split off with a texas dall and a black hawaiian. The three rams went completely away from the rest of the group. So my chances were getting better at getting this beauty. The texas dall and the black hawaiian were both fantastic animals, but that corsican was absolutely gorgeous. The three rams stayed right together for another 40 yards or so, and then went in behind a big oak tree. That gave me the cover I needed. I worked my way to within about 15 yards of the tree and waited. First, the black hawaiian came out to the right side of the tree and wondered off by himself. That only left the dall and my corsican. My chances of getting a shot was looking better. Then both rams came out side-by-side. That did not look good for a clean shot. Then the dall stopped and the corsican didn't. It walked about another 5 yards and stopped to see where the dall was. That was his big mistake, I let the bolt fly and it hit high. I guess it was a spinal shot because the big ram dropped right where he stood. I had completed my Texas Slam with the biggest ram I have ever taken with a bow. He scored 105 and 4/8ths ROE. he has beautiful colors and will make a really nice mount. Notice the really deep curls on those horns. Thanks for looking.
