Took some buddies down to a friend of mine's place in Watervalley this weekend for little exotic hunting. Saturday evening both of them shot nice animals (see Campfire section for the whole story) so this morning it was my turn. I got up this morning and headed out to try and find one of two mouflon on the ranch. After a few busted stalks I let them calm down for a little while so that I could pack to head home and clean up the house alittle and then went back after them when I was finished with that. After another blown chance, I got in the Jeep and hurried to the other end of the creek bed that they were headed down. After about 15 minutes here they came and I took the shot at 32 yards. At the shot the ram dropped like a rock. The shot looked good, but I thought that I must have spined him. I ran up there to get another arrow in him, but it wasn't needed. The shot was quartering away and it entered middle of the body behind the shoulder and angled forward and stuck in the off side. The rage opened him up good and he was done in matter of seconds. I wasn't sure how that happen, because it was no where near the spine. Anyway here are some LDPs. Thanks for looking.
