Had a few pics of pigs on the tc behind the house, decided to hunt them this evening. They have been coming out right at dark the past few days, so I took a climber out and hung it this afternoon. I climbed up the tree about 5:30 and by 6:00 I could hear several hogs in the briar patch / thicket on my neighbors place to my north. Well the good old evening wind was swirling around a little, so every time some would come in towards the feeder they would get skittish and ease back into the thicket. FINALLY a sow came in close enough to give me a decent shot. It was a clean pass thru with good blood on the arrow. I waited about 30 minutes and started searching. Found good blood trail that lasted for 40 yards or so and can't find another spec. I'm just sick right now. I know it's "just a pig", but I can't stand not recovering an animal. Gonna go back in the morning - hope it gets real cool tonight.
