Saturday morning was pretty uneventful in my stand. During bow season I would see 8-9 deer per sitting which is pretty good for east texas. With the full moon being what it was this weekend I wasn't really expecting to see a whole lot. Saturday about 10 minutes til 8 the biggest bobcat I have ever seen in my life came bolting out of the woods! Filled with excitement I tried to get ready for a shot but couldn't get him to stop, I let one fly but missed. He stopped, slowly walked back into the woods, and disappeared. It was exciting but dissappointing as well. It is only the second bobcat I have ever seen and the first time to get a shot at one. This was a monster cat! Would have made for an unbelievable story and mount. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
