Harvested him Saturday morning. He's my second bow buck and the first harvested on our ranch in five years.
I got in my quadpod right at 6am on Saturday morning. It was a wee bit chilly. I had a nice 8 pt come in chasing a doe around 6:45. He was in love. He chased her all over the area and more than once he came within about 5 yards of my setup and never flinched. I had a young 10 pt come in a little while later and then a 4 pt and about 4-6 does showed up. It was crowded under that feeder. About 7:30 the 9 pt showed up on the horizon. He circled the area and settled about 18 yards from me. The rest is history.
Big or small, harvesting a buck with a bow is a tremendous feeling. It's hunting at it's finest, IMO.
