After watching this deer all summer, I finally laid eyes on him this morning. I had come to call him the mole because of the grape sized wart under his right eye. He came into my set-up with a 4 point, and both were very nervous for the first 15 minutes. After they finally got relaxed, I got into a position to draw, but had to let down when he turned and showed his rear end. He finally tuned back to a quartering away and dropped his head, so I drew again. My shot ended up a little more forward than my intended impact point, and entered just under his elbow, forward of his heart, and turned and exited just in front of his sternum. The shot severed his windpipe, carotid artery and jugular vein. He went a total of 40 yards, leaving about a dozen huge splashes of blood. The entrance was about 2 inches wide, and the exit was about 8 inches long!
