In all my attempts I have never had the opportunity to take two hogs on the same sit. Today was the day...
I got in the stand around 6 this morning and had animals around me within a few minutes. The sun came up and I could see 2 doe, a fawn & could hear another behind me. I could hear a large hog moving my way buy couldn't ever see him. Doe skirted out and things got quiet about 8. I hadn't seen any bucks and still getting used to shooting out of a tree so I was begging for pigs to come in.
A few minutes later...4 100#+/- hogs came in from behind me. As they crossed in front, the last one paused for a second at a hard quartering angle. The Grim Reaper was on it's way. Ssssqqqqquuuuueeeeellll!
He dropped in this tracks. I can only guess one of the blades caught something. But the arrow was burried in his side.
The other three came back at him just like javi will. I knocked another arrow. This time the NAP Bloodrunner 2 blade was up. Thwack...2 shots, 2 pigs! This one and other two scurried off. In less than 2 minutes, another of the group decided to go back to where they came from. As he got past me I let my 3rd arrow fly. Unfortunately I hit a limb while trying to shoot him while he was running.
That's ok though...I'll take 66% kill rate when tracking job was 10 & 15 yards from the stand
By the way, bloodrunner gave a great bloodtrail. I guess it helps when you partially pass through these small ones!
