If you read what he wrote he stated that he shot it a second time after it was down due to a spin shot on the first one.

I was hunting a new stand and didnt know my ranges, i thought he was 20 yards but ranged after shot and he was 14 yards so my shot was a little high and broke his back and hit one lung. He crawled a couple yards and laid there on his back so I put the next one through the chest so he didnt suffer.
