Got this one Saturday morning at 8:10am. He was 20 yards out, aimed for the heart and made a clean pass through. He ran about 50 yards, at the most, I heard him crash to the ground, and leaving a very good blood trail. It was amazing for me, to say the least. I used the Carbon Express F-15 fixed blade with their new Mayhem 250 arrows, and fletched them myself with Fusions, it obviously worked well for me.
This buck had been on my field camera a few times earlier this year, but didn't get my hopes up too much. Many deer I had on camera last year, didn't make it around when I was on stand, so I knew luck had to play a big role in taking this one out. Luck was on my side this time and I couldn't be happier! He's the best "bow" buck in the history of our deer lease. Much better deer have been killed there, but only with a rifle. I'll take this bow kill over a bigger rifle deer any day. By the way, he's the one in my avatar.
