    Sheep/Goat Hunters

Shot these two fine specimens last season near Del Rio. Can anyone help me identify. Merino? Catalina? Sorry about the photos, I had to take them myself. Also had to pack the animals out myself. I shot both of these the same day (with a rifle.)

    Gracias.

They were just free-ranging on a low fence lease. Reminded me alot of Elk hunting in Colorado. Lots of fun.

I see some guys talking about ROE scores on Merinos. How do you score them? Just curious.

Base Measurement of each side + Length of each horn, following the curve + 1/2 circumference measurement of each horn = ROE Score.

For a Merino the scores are:
              Bronze - 80-99 7/8
              Silver - 100-109 7/8
              Gold - 110 And Up

top one is an Angora goat. It is the source of Mohair. The bottom one is a Ramboulleit. It is the source of wool. You just killed two nice sweaters..LOL Just messing with you.
The ROE names for them are as follows.. The goat is known as "New Zealand Mountain Goat", not a Catalina as stated above..
The bottom is known as "Merino"...

                              Taxi, u Idgit !!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are actually domestic livestock. Angora Goat and a Rambulai Sheep. I know I misspelled the last one. But yes they go in R.O.E. under different names.
