      Very nice first deer. I don't think I would have had the patienance to let him walk twice if I was you. Glad you sealed the deal and didn't give up the track.

        That is one heck of a deer, especially for your first bow kill...I believe I would probably be sending that dude to the taxi for a shoulder mount! Great looking buck and that is the way to stay after the trail when your gut tells you that you put a lethal shot on him.

        While the femoral aorta is not the desired aiming point, it will most definitely get the job done in putting a buck on the ground.

          I just took him up to Skulls Unlimited in OKC to get a Euro mount done. They do awesome work and are very professional. This deer is just a little above average for the land i'm hunting, really nothing special. Although, it holds great sentimental value for me, being my first bow kill. I'm still very happy with him and wouldn't have chose any other deer coming in to my feeders right now. I'm waiting on old moss head to show up before i go for the full shoulder mount. Thanks for the replies, its great to hear from everyone.
