My new favorite javelina recipe:

1/2 small Javelina (1 ham, 1 shoulder, 1 backstrap, 1 tenderloin)
1 red apple, sliced
1 red onion, sliced
1 small can (7.5 oz) Dr Pepper
1/2 bottle HEB Chipotle Raspberry marinade
1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce (I love Salt Lick Lauren's Sauce)

Pour a little of the DP and marinade in the bottom of a crockpot. Place the meat in, followed by the apple and onion. Pour everything else over the top. Cook on low all day.

A little note:
I've been ice-chest-brining all my game meat with much success. I think this is particularly important with the javis to get rid of the residual odor. I would not suggest cooking this inside the house if you haven't.
