    Juicebox at the Diamond C

I have always wanted to kill a nice ram and when my dad informed me that he had booked a hunt for us in March I was stoked and couldn't wait. Those 9 weeks couldn't have gone slower but on game day I could hardly wait to get there. Me and my dad set off from Kingwood at 4:30 a.m., yikes, but it was worth it cause I knew I had a great hunt in front of me. After 6 hours of butt time we arrived at the Diamond C.

After we unpacked we had to wait an agonizing 3 hours until we went out on stand. After meeting Skylar and Jeremy we set up our game plan me and my dad in one pop up and everyone else in another.

Once me and my dad get settled in it was uneventful up until 6 p.m. when the feeder goes off. At this time two fat sika does come out from our right with an axis buck still in velvet. We watched them probably 30 minutes vaccuming up our corn we had put out. As they left a couple of whitetails dash across the trail at about 50 yards away. After this everything is gone so me and pops decide to watch The Hangover but maybe 5 minutes later a group of pigs sprints to the feeder mine and my dad's bad side. So my dad whispers " Get on your knees and try and get one." I get on my knees draw back in stealth mode and settle in on my target, a medium sized pig, thwack ahhhhhh backstrap. This didn't dull my spirits too bad as my dad got a nice black hog.

After a good night rest we got up at 5:30 and Skylar pulled moments later to give us our game plan. I was going to sit in the pop up Bobby shot the texas dall out of, for he saw some nice mouflons as well.

Skylar drops me off at the pop up right before shooting light and justs as the sun comes over the horizon probably 30 aoudad cross in front of me at 40 yards so think its gonna be a good sit. But to my surprise the morning was just very very cold with only 2 whitetail does coming in after the aoudad sighting.

Around Sunday midday it started to warm up quite a bit so I hoped thiswouldget the animals on their feet. Skylar and Jeremy were also nice enough to sit up a pop up at a protein feeder where we saw some awesome corsican rams at earlier. This just added to my anticipation about this evening sit. We all decided to go out a little earlier this evening around 2 o'clock, sp i get to my blind get all settled and with in 5 minutes two descent corsicans come walking in. I get my bow ready just about to draw and a huge gust of wind comes and blows the pop up back right into me, spooking off the rams. I am obviously frustrated but i sit the blind back to where it was. I sit back and what do you know 2 more different corsicans come in and i see a tan and black one that I liked. He came kinda nervous but he settled down and came in to the corn that was set out at 15 yards. I drew back and put my 15 yard pin right behind his shoulder, thwack, perfect shot. He wheeled around and back from where he came from, I'm so pumped I literatlly fall out of my chair. I wait maybe 10 minutes because i had just put a rage in this ram's lungs. I follow an awesome blood trail for maybe 40 yards and find my beautiful corsican ram.I call Jeremy and have him pick me and my beautiful ram up. After dropping my ram off at camp I decide I want to go get me a piggy.

Jeremy drops me off at a very nice platform stand overlooking a feeder and a couple of trails at about 4:30. I'm sitting there watching a movie on my iTouch when i hear grunting followed by the sight of 10 hogs running to the hand thrown corn. I see a oreo piggy that i want so i stand up draw back and make a perfect shot on him. My adrenaline still hadn't stopped from shooting my ram and now a nice hog. I get down from my stand and follow a steady blood trail for maybe 80 yards to find a nice boar at the end

About this time i learn that Richard has shot a nice oryx. We all go back to camp and drop off all our animals so we can go pick up my dad.

As we get close to my dad's stand I tell everyone not to tell him that i got something. So when we get him he says he got a nice sika and then we see it and I think its an awesome sika

So he is feeling all bummed that I didn't get anything until we pick up Bobby. Bobby says " Mason sure was the killer" ahhhh blown cover so my dad then freaks out and starts giving me high fives and hugs. Then me and my dad shared congratulations and hugs.
