That's always a good sign. Unless your ex-wife is in the bed of the truck.

Eddie and I set out do do some spot and stalk moonlight video last night. We corned some roads, before dark, kicked back and mixed some persuasions for the nights festivities. At about 8 o'clock, we headed over to where there are a couple of creep cattle feeders. the wind was swirling and coming out of an awkward direction for a good setup. I was going to video for the first few shots of the night getting Eddie in action. We had a hundred plus head of calves acting crazy and Eddie and I settled in right up against one of the protein creep feeders. I looked over and within being there 20minutes, a 200+ lb boar walks in through the heard of calves behind us. We tried to get in position, but the boar sensed something wasn't right and began to loop around out at about 60yds. I was videoing him and Eddie and thought it was going to happen, but he got and angle that he may have got a whiff of us and briskly walked away the way he came through the calves. We discussed repositioning and when we were trying too, a BIG group of I don't know how many hogs charged right in on us. I jumped back against a fence, laid down and started the camera. They were coming in right on Eddie. I could see him at full draw and when he shot, hogs went everywhere. I could tell by his choice words that the shot didn't connect. We reposition again and I glass on the other side of the calves and there were two more creep feeders within about 200yds. The boar that had left was easily visible and the stalk was on. I lagged back videoing and Eddie wasted no time. He soon reached the first feeder and was within 20yds, but the boar was on the backside of the feeder from him. As Eddie angled for a shot, the boar trotted out to about 30yds and made the mistake of stopping turning and trying to figure out what Eddie was. The arrow connects and the boar gives an awesome scream/growl and began his death run straight into a barbed wire fence. he hits the bottom strand so hard it completely disfigures the bottom wire stretching it to were it is super loose. Eddie gives me his rendition and we high five and get ready to get back into position. My bow and everything except my camera were sitting atop the second creep feeder. As we go back that way, there already is a huge group of hogs at the feeder. We have to completely circle them and come from the back side. We get into position, Eddie gets a shot off on a good 170 lber and once again they burn off. By this time, our magnum persuasion cups have long been empty, so we head back to replenish them at camp. We decide to ride the corned roads for a while. What we find, is miles of road that the hogs have already vacuumed clean. By midnight it is DEAD calm and bright. We get back on the creep feeders and everything slowed down substantially. A couple of groups bust us, circle us, and finally we get position on a good group of hogs with some "contenders" among the group. I get position and set down 20yds from a huge group at the number one feeder. I have two or three, out on the fringe checking me out and being wary. I was waiting on a silverback boar that was eating to give me a good shot. As I am using my binocs to check him out, a sow had moved close in to me and realized I wasnt a "friendly" She cut and ran and took quite a few hogs with her. In the comotion, I knew it was go time. I drew my bow and the silverback came out of the creep feeder and squared up directly at me and it was faceoff time. After about 20 seconds, I could tell, he was the only hog left there and he was about to turn and burn. I put my tritium pin just under his chin and let her rip. i could see my shot flash and the line was perfect. Nice solid hit and the arrow burried deep into the front of the chest. It is a Looooong way to the nearest woods, so I felt confident he would crater before making cover. He had run through cattle, so I didnt have a good line on his direction. He would be one for the morning search. The night really slowed at this point and the groups got smaller and it being so still, getting busted was happening more often than not. The potato juice was weighing tough on me as well and I know we were probably not being the most svelte hunters at the time
Eddie turned in early and Logan and Stratton had been together on another part of the ranch decided to come hang with me. We stayed out till about 6am and had a few failed attemps to get the boys some shots on hogs. We turned in and got a few hours sleep before Eddie and I went out to retrace, track and recover hogs. We brought them back and the first hog of the night tipped the scales at 220lbs live weight, or"dead weight" really
Eddie and I captured some pictures and I did a bit of quick processing, backstrapping the boars and gutting the one sow. We go back to camp to get the boys up and head back to Austin by noon. We are all tired and a bit weary this evening, but once again, we had an awesome time stalking Bastrop's Texas Rhino's in the moonlight. We didnt even get to hunt the stands that we had planned due to the wind. That will be another story however
I ahave a new puter and dont have a video card that I can download my video right now, so stills will have to do for now.
