The planets finally aligned for me on 12/31/09 at 7:18am. This has been a tough season with very few deer sightings at all. Other than my son's deer he killed at Thanksgiving, this is the only shootable buck that I have seen. I have seen this deer once when I was hunting, but it was too dark to shoot. This is the buck that I have been chasing all season, and I have about 100 trail cam photos of him. He always seemed to be at my stand when I was not. 50 yards from point of impact to recovery. I made what turned out to be a deadly shot, but not a good shot, as I was very low. I cut the bottom of the heart, which was very effective, but 1/2" lower and it would have been non fatal. My only regrets about this deer are the broken brow tine, which he had three days earlier, and the fact that my son was not with me when I took the deer. He had hunted hard with me in the bow stand this year. This buck has 9.5" G2's, 8.5" G3's, and I roughed him at 130" and some change. He won't net out P&Y, but he is my best buck to date.
