Yesterday was my 41st B-Day and on stand. On stnad still hoping at a chance at a good buck with time slpipping by. I have just not been having any deer activity at all on stand. But hey it's just been that kind of year. Yesterday was one of those morning on stand that I was cold and could not get warm. I was just trying to sit as long as I could. About 8:30 I had a parade of about eight deer come walking through my oats and never slowed down to eat oats or to look at feeder. At this pont I am ready to go just go get warm. But say OK I am going to sit till at least 9:30. Then at 8:45 a Bobcat pops out at 45 yards or so. I grab my bow quick and am drawn. Dang if my arrow does't fall off my rest. As I am using my index finger to get the arrow back on rest another bobcat steps out and is coming on the oat patch at what I am guessing 40 yards. I settle my second pin and release. I am thinking no way I am going to hit him. But geez he does a backflip and it it just looked like a good shot.. I sit a few more minutes and I get down to find my arrow. Can't find it but find some drops of blood. So I take off looking for some sign. Nothing. I look around in a thicket a few miuntes then decide to go back to where he was standing. Then I catch some white and there she lays. Not even twenty yards. I am truely excited. I have always wanted a bobcat and see getting one with a bow as a true trophy.

Fast foward to yesterday evening. I am sitting with my son trying to get him on a doe or a broke led three pointer that has been coming in. About 5:20 out pops a bobcat at about the same place they came out in the morning. I am trying to tell him to shoot it. Well he passes on hopes of getting a deer. Which makes me proud of him. BUT!!! About 15 minutes later I catch movement and what do you know it's another bobcat and much larger coming our way. Well I got excited and selfish and grabbed the gun and laid the smack down on him with a youth 243. That made two bobcats in one day. GO figure. Also the first time I shot a deer rifle in at least 10 years. I am going to get them both mounted together. I did not get pictures of the second cat it was too late and I just didn't mess with it.
