The hunt began at BoggyCreek Outfitters Ranch just outside of Atlanta Texas. We arrived about 8:30 or 9 that morning and we began hunting as soon as we got ready. Joe , the "Guide", placed me in a lean to stand where he threw some corn out at. I had a group of 15 or so pigs come in. I went ahead and took the biggest one in the group, and he weighed about forty pounds. I thought to myself that he would make a good happy meal on the smoker for us. After I took care of the pig, I went back out to kill my second hog. This time, I was going for a bigger hog. I stalked through the woods and the fields all day, with different shot opportunites at different hogs, but I passed since it was still fairly early in the hunt. The day had passed and I still hadn't filled my tag for the second hog. With the sun getting closer to set, I knew I had to get me something. The guide put my brother and dad on stands with corn, and I kept on stalking around. I decided to stop at a spot where I had seen some hog activity earlier that day. I crouched behing some brush and a small cedar. In no time, I heard something coming to my left. I saw the shadow of a hog and i went ahead and pulled back. I had already decided that i was going to probably shoot it no matter what the size since it was that late in the day... After i pulled my bow, the hog stepped out into view. To my surprise, it was a nice big boar, or so i thought. The hog was moving pretty fast and I knew I wouldn't have a shot for long. I grunted and the hog stopped imediatly. With my pin behind the shoulder, I released the fury. It was a great shot! I could even see my arrow in the ground with blood all over it. I waited about ten minutes and I started to blood trail. I found the hog with no problem. She only went maybe thirty yards and crashed. This was a really great looking sow! We had a awesome time there with Joe at BoggyCreek Outfitters.
