Son with Hill Country 8 point

My son, Nathan, made a good heart shot on a respectable 8 pointer Saturday morning. It was about a 22 yard shot from fairly high up in a live oak. The blood trail surprising got pretty thin after about twenty yards but I've pounded into his head to watch as hard as you can where the deer goes after you shoot so he paid attention and pointed out a tree that the buck had gone by about 60 yards away where we picked the blood trail back up. The 40K Rage had really opened him up and the trail was big and bright from then on, which was not far. We were both pretty excited at the end of the trail.
