    Oldest Deer in Texas

On TBH its all about the video. Sometimes you just have to put the camera down and hunt.

We have been watching this old buck named Geezer for a while now. J Bone had this buck at eleven or twelve years old.

Monday morning i was hunting at a blind we call the stink blind where we thought he might be. I was covered in does and had to fight off a few javalina's. Justin was hunting down the road at the 9 point blind and he had Geezer coming in. So dad and i planned out that we would hunt there this afternoon after the cold front came in. I sat in the Macho blind while dad was up in the tower blind scouting. I had a doe and a few young bucks roll in and get spooked off by a helicopter, which didnt go over with dad and me. About 45 mintes later i got a text from dad that said, GEEZER!!!!, I glanced out the window and saw the old man. My heart started pounding and i slowly calmed down while he eased his way in front of me. I watched his feet and noticed he walked with his front right then back right then front left then back left foot. When his front left went forward i pulled back and let the hammer down. The old man didnt know what happened and stood there before he jogged off about forty yards. I think dad was out of the stand before Geezer was on the ground. never seen my old man so proud.

Codeman has been chasin this buck on more than a few occasions....as time, soccer and school has allowed.

The buck would show up on occasion at 1 blind or the other. Openein weekend, Cody could see Geezer, but stronger bucks would not allow him to feed into the shootin lane.

As yall can see....this buck is older than dirt!

Bout 2:30, Cody and I loaded up and headed for the 9 Point Blind. The blind itself is a Macho blind, made of black plastic that is buried in the ground. I sat in a rifle blind about 120 yards away.

Justin didint think the old deer was in good enough shape to see next week, so I told Cody to video if you can, but above all.....just make sure you get a good shot on the old guy.

Macho blinds are tricky to video from, so Cody decided to just worry about the shot.

I was up in the rifle blind and could see a lot of deer! I just couldnt see Geezer for the longest. The helicopter is what changed things up. It buzzed right over Cody's head at about 400' and ran off the bucks that were in front of him. A few minutes later.....Geezer emerged from the bruch and started to head his direction.

I was up in the stand textin him, God and everbody! Lookin thru my binos and shakin like a leaf!

As Geezer neared Cody's shootin lane, I saw him lower his ears and show a small buck who was boss! The little buck moved and allowed Geezer to stand in front of Cody.

I was lookin thru my binos.....strainin my eyes....waitin to see the shot! After what I thought was the shot....Geezer just kinda hunched up and stood for a second. He then trotted into the bruch. I dropped my binos and looked at the other sendero to see if he would cross. Instead....he walked out betwixt me and Codeman....layed down.....and went to sleep.

I jumped out of the stand and ran down to join my son.....who didnt know he was down! I was so excited....I thought my eyes might start leakin!

Didnt take ol J~Bone long to join us in some high fives!

Im proud of my son! More than words can express!
