Finally connected yesterday on an ugly buck. Pencil horns, 3 on one side, spike on other. He was quartering away from me at 18 yards and I took the shot. FMJ with 125 Montec. He turned right at the release and I drove it into his back left thigh/hip area. Looked as if somebody had hit him with a club, as it almost knocked him off his feet. He regained his composure and limped off about 30-yards and just stood there for about 10-minutes.
Thank goodness for the nock, as it was as bright as Rudolph's nose. When he walked off, I got out of stand and stalked him for about 100 yards trying to put him down. Bbe laid down 3 times and when he tried to get up the last time, he cell and rolled over the arrow and it drove the rest of the way, exiting behind his right shoulder. Don't think I would have found him without the guidance of the nock.
Sorry, sitting in blind and can't post any pics now....
