Took my first Wimberley deer of the season today. Been keeping an eye out on this feeder where corn was piled up. Typically one of my best locations..this season started out rough there..not even hogs came to eat the pile of corn under the feeder. There were fresh tracks going right by. After this last front the corn was devoured and there were lots of signs that bucks were running does through there. I finally sat it today. Was hoping for a good old 8pt cull but had the pull back on this doe when I saw her she was huge. Must of migrated with the front. She was bigger then the 3.5 yo 8pt that was trying to chase her. She ever turned and faced him a few times. I finally saw a window to draw and when I anchored and didn't get busted I thought ohh your in trouble now missy. I know these old girls are smart so at 35yards I went ahead and put the pin low on her hairline practiclly. I drilled her and the 2incut hammerhead really opened her up. She still went 100yards. It was a rough drag uphill the whole way..well worth it..she had some massive straps.
