Finally bought a new one and have a question

As some may know I was thinking of buying the Remington Ghost game cam and after reading a few reviews I was hesitant. My buddy bought one and came over and showed me pics. It looked good. Went to Academy to buy it for $59 and they had sold out. Sucked! So I decided to run to BPS and buy the Game Innovations IR4, they had it on sale for $79. Sold Out. Sucked. So, they had the Moultrie d40 with 1GB SD card for $69. Bought it.

Now I think I remember Smart saying something about puting tape over the screen because of screen failure. I can't remember though if it was specifically about the D40. Any thoughts or experiences?

I don't think the screen thing is for D40 it is the next up model
I have a D40 and never covered anything up for the 2 years of use so far.
But mine does not take good pictures,

Are you talking about covering the internal LCD screen with tape?

THat was the I40 that the LCD screens were going out on all the time. Haven't heard of this issue with the D40.

I got the same camera a couple months. So far I have nothing but good things to say about it.

We have D40's and I40's. Have not experienced any problems with the LCD screens on the D40's but it is a problem with the I40's. One thing that we have learned is to be sure and delete the memory on the camera before you install the SD card and sometimes they have a problem accepting the SD cards. Over all very good cameras, no major complaints.

Atfulldraw, I couldn't remember which Moultrie was having LCD screen issues. I guess due to the heat or extremem sun it was going out and Smart was putting tape over it to keep it fromhappening. I thought it might have been the D40 but it was the I40

we have these 7 camras on our ranch for 2yrs. They work great. on one the flash went out after 2 years we just sent it back and one other the case was left open and got wet on the inside.

over all we are pleased
