The sticker on my bow say AMO bow string length 60". is this the length of string I need to get. Will any cable work or do I have to have a specific type or length. Please help
What make bow? Is it a recurve from the way it's described?
If it is, take the old one off and measure it to be sure.
My recurves are 58" (AMO= Archery Manufacturers Organization) and it uses a 54" string, recurves strings are typically 4" shorter than the AMO length (measured tip to tip with the rules along the surface of the bow I think is how they spec'd it)
Mountain, AMO length in a Recurve or longbow is the length from string indention(sp) from one end to the other. The string is normally about 4 inches shorter...so you bend the bow to string it.....There are some old compound bows that also use the "AMO" string description.
The bow is a compound and has phoenix on the limbs and has robin hood on the handle. This bow was given to me and I was just going by the sticker on the bow!
