    Deer stand placement questions

Ok the small red dots are feeder placments. The one on he right is mine. I have had the feeder up for 3 weeks now and a camera up for 2 weeks. i have 3 deer coming to the feeder 2 does and a spike. The heavy brush line is a creek. The only 2 road crossing are at the dots. So my question is where else to place a stand? The field will be planted in wheat for season

I would leave it like it is...... 3 weeks may be a little to soon to get an accurate look at what you have coming in.

But if I was to move it, I would move to the rightand put my stand in the bend where it gets closer to the field (if that is the field that will be planted).

I think I would go and look at the area around where the 2 creeks intersect at the v in the photo. Deer tend to move around where creeks intersect and it appears that there are more woods there.

Your most important factor as to where to put a stand (assuming you are talking bow stand especially), and that is wind direction. For instance if the prevailing winds are from the south to southeast, I'd strongly suggest you put the stand on the West side of the feeder. In East Texas and in South and West Texas, the wind very seldom blows out of the west, so there is a better chance you'd have a favorable wind most of the time. If it's different for your area, then adjust accordingly. You can always generate cover to hide from their eyes, but you will need the wind to hide from their noses...

I`m looking at setting up at least 2 more feeders.

                The place is 920 acres

i would personally put up several more feeders on that acreage. we have 6 feeders on 150 and we get different deer to each one. of course we do get several that make the rounds too. i would look for sign of travel and bedding areas as well as possible natural feeding areas. then i would set up feeders up wind of prevailing winds so that you can easily set up a good location of stand. i would personally have to be on the ground to make any decisions. im not good at just looking at an aerial and knowing for sure. good luck!!!

i agree, this should be the location of the best stan on this map.

i like the 2 creeks coming together. you dont have to put a feeder up to hunt, have a stand in there and just hand corn it.

Go to the creek intersection and look for a heavy used trail/creek crossing, I probally wouldn't even put a feeder there just a stand
