Any of yall Houstonians into slab repairs or plumbing? My 85 year old mom is having some work done and is worried if she is being taken advantage of because of her age. So far she has spent $4K. Anyone down there in the biz? I'll be heading that way Friday evening, but the work will prolly be done by then. It would be nice to touch base with a pro in the field. THANKX

what is she haveing done exactly. Slab and plumbing as well can be pretty pricey just depends on the work.

Make sure to get a copy of the piering plan and the engineers report. They are supposed to have an engineer sign off on the piering plan and they are supposed to have the engineer inspect of any back filling of tunnels to verify it is being compacted correctly and also to make sure they are using a select fill and not putting the removed soil back in the tunnels. They should also be hauling off all of the soil removed from the holes and tunnels.
