    Headed To China

I will be headed to Chengdu, China (look it up) for almost 2 months for work. I'm leaving on Sunday, and will have the next 55 or so days filled with fun and frivolity. And if you believe that, I got some ocean front property to sell ya! Hopefully I will be able to get on here and upload some pictures of the scenery.

Y'all take care, leave me some doves for next year and say an occasional prayer for me when ya think ablout it.

No need for good luck, the place is awesome! Was there in June '06 throughout most of east, NW and Beijing for school.

Keep your mind open to the culture, remember you're a guest, TRY THE FOOD, and buy tons of cheap cr@p.

Oh, be on the lookout for a good pijo (pronounced pee-joe) vendor for beer. Most come room temp, but the good ones have 1L beers in a cooler. If you want cold beer, simply say "bing pijo ma?" (it means, do you have cool/cold beer) I think the average price I paid was almost .25-.50 a bottle.

Take tons of pics and post em up!

I'd post my own pics but I'm too lazy right now to resize, etc.

An assignment of sorts. We're so far behind, this was the only way I could see getting caught up.

                  Yep.

There are a couple of guys from work that have been there for over a year now, and they plan on showing me the "ropes" while I'm there.

I was there in the spring of 2007, it is a pretty laid back city. More older Chinese there than any of the other cities I have been too. Be sure and check out the Panda Research Breeding Center, the Budha in Leshan (about 1 hour drive away), lots of shops in the ancient city. Taste test the local beers until you find one you like best. The hotels have the best food, except for the pick your own live seafood places.
