Does anyone have access to run a trailer vin?

Found a trailer I like however, the vin tag was removed or ripped from the trailer frame. The sticker has a trailer vin and was wondering if anyone had access to run the vin on it and tell me the registered owner, if it's stolen, or anything else that may help me understand what I am looking at.

It is againt the law to remove, destroy, alter ect a VIN. IMO I would stay clear of it. The sticker may be stolen also, so it may not do you any good. Always make sure there is a VIN and the seller has a clear title, or you may set yourslef up for a huge headache.

In Texas trailers under 4,000 lbs do NOT have to be titled and/or may not have a title at all. If it does have a vin run it and see if not just buy it and keep your bill of sale.
