A little Summer Fun

Last week a group of us headed north to raft the Illinois river in Oklahoma. We had a great time. . I wanted to post a few pics.

Looks like fun times were had by all. Reminds me of numerous floats down the Guadalupe.... well the ones I can remember anyway.

Those river pics bring back memories. I grew up in Tulsa and we did a canoe trip on the Illinois several times every year. My Dad and I caught many a smallmaouth in those waters

I grew up in Atoka and my family would canoe the river every year. Since I moved to Texas I have only had the chance to go up there once and that was last year. I believe our group is gonna make it a yearly thing. We sure have a blast up there and the place is beautiful..
Saw a lot of guys fishing but not to many catching anything. Looks like it would be a great place to bowfish though. Tons of carp.

We did have a great time.. It's definitely a great place to just get away and enjoy the weekend. The Illinois river is in Tahlequah Ok. about 4 1/2 hrs north of Dallas. It's a beautiful area and a pretty cheap little vacation too. Just make sure and contact them early because they book up their cabins pretty quick.
